Before you tan:
Spa Services: manicures, pedicures, facial and waxing
Exfoliate: exfoliate your entire body 24-48 hours prior to your tanning appointment. We recommend using an exfoliating mitt or brush. Pay extra attention to dry spots, elbows, knees and ankles and feet. Proper exfoliation will prep your skin for a smooth and flawless tan!
Shower and Soap: shower 8-24 hours before your tanning appointment. Avoid bar soaps like Dove. Gel soaps are preferred.
Shave and Wax: we recommend shaving 24 hours prior to your tanning appointment. When shaving please avoid razors with a moisturizing strip. We recommend waxing 48 hours prior to your tanning appointment.
Day of tanning appointment: please don’t use any lotions, oils deodorant or perfumes. Product like these will create a barrier on your skin which will lead to a not so perfect tan. We know you will want to use them, but please don’t…. we want your tan to be perfect just like you!
After you tan:
Clothing: You’ll want to wear dark loose clothing to your appointment. Flip flops or sandals are preferable. Tight clothing can cause your tan to become uneven. Jeans, leggings, tights, shorts, tank tops, sundresses and sneakers are not recommended.
No Touching: you’ll want to avoid touching you skin after a tan. You risk the bronzer transferring to the palms of your hands or having a big hand print in the middle of your beautiful tan.
Sleeping: the night of your tan and prior to your first rinse, we recommend wearing loose dark clothing to bed. Long pants and long sleeves. If you tend to sleep on your hands you may consider putting socks over your hands. Try to stay cool and avoid sweating.
First Rinse: Once your tan has developed for the prescribed time rinse off the bronzer with warm water (not hot) until the water runs clear. Gently pat dry.
Shower: Your first shower 24 hours after your tan you can use a gel based soap free of oils, paraben-free, sulfate free and alcohol free. Gently pat dry.
Moisturize: Make sure you keep your skin hydrated with a good oil free, alcohol -free moisturizer. The more hydrated you keep your skin the longer your tan will last!
Tan Killers: Chlorine, super hot showers and hot tubs, shaving, hot yoga, excessive sweating, oil based products and products full of alcohol and perfumes. Avoid exfoliating products until your tan is starting to fade. Exfoliate thoroughly to remove all of your previous tan so you’re ready to schedule your next appointment!
